MAZAL TOV TO EVAN (MORDECHAI) GERSHON, son of Sheryl and Irwin Gershon, on his forthcoming marriage on July 6 to Stephanie Levine, daughter of Fran and David Levine of Highland Park, New Jersey. In August the proud couple will be leaving for a year in Israel. Mazal tov to Evan’s brother Justin (Yaakov) and to grandparents Mildred Gershon, Sophie Billet and Irwin and Ruth Levine. Sheryl and Irwin Gershon invite the entire congregation to a Kiddush following davening.

WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT Menachem Bedziner has accepted the position of Youth Director. Menachem’s experience in youth work includes running the YIWH pre-teen minayn and service as West Hempstead Commissioner of the Young Israel Baseball League. We look forward to working with him.

MAZAL TOV AND YASHER KOACH TO RABBI AVROHOM SEBROW on completing his first year as maggid shiur for our daily daf yomi chabura. Rabbi Sebrow drives from Far Rockaway Sunday thru Friday mornings. On behalf of the congregation, we offer our thanks and appreciation. Everyone is welcome to join the chabura, which will continue learning throughout the summer.

THE WOMEN'S PIRKEI AVOT GROUP led by Dvorah Levy will meet this Shabbat at 6:00 PM at the home of Dvorah Levy, 734 Berry Court. All women are invited to participate. During July the group will meet at the home of Gail Lang.

ECDP WOMEN'S BOOK CLUB. The next book will be Turbulent Souls by Stephen Dubner. The meeting will be Wednesday, July 23 at 8 pm at the home of Rachel Hanuka, 801 Evergreen Drive.

FINANCIAL STATEMENTS for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2008 were mailed this week. In order to be treated as a member (or supporter) in good standing for purposes of High Holiday seat selection, you must pay these commitments by August 15. If you have any questions about the statements, please contact Marvin Nagler. If current finances do not permit you to make full payment at this time, please contact Neil Shapiro or Marvin Nagler to discuss alternative payment arrangements.

HIGH HOLIDAY SEATING QUESTIONNAIRE. A questionnaire seeking views regarding High holiday seat selection procedures was distributed at the last membership meeting and has been emailed. Please respond if you have not already done so. Completed questionnaires can be given or sent to Victor Oelbaum or Burt Nusbacher or can be returned by fax to 212-299-6719.

3 ON 3 MEN’S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT. There will be a 3 on 3 Men’s Basketball Tournament for teens and up on Sunday morning, June 29, with funds raised being donated to the Yad Eliezer charity organization in Israel (www.yadeliezer.org ).We thank all those who have already signed up for the tournament. There is no charge for playing, but a suggested donation of $18 to Yad Eliezer is recommended. Sponsorships are also welcome. The tournament will take place on Rabbi Schwalb's new basketball court and on other courts around the Wildwood Road / Evergreen Drive area. If you are interested in playing or contributing, please contact one of the four Commissioners, Joshua Levine (jlevine@elliottmgmt.com ), Mitchell Nathanson (mitchell@nathansonlaw.com ), Bruce Wenger (bwenger@optonline.net ) or Yair Menchel (yaches1015@gmail.com ), or contact Rabbi Schwalb (eschwalb@kayescholer.com). Teams and rules will be finalized before Shabbos. Tipoff will take place at approximately 9:00 am after the singing of the National Anthems.

YOUNG ISRAEL LITTLE LEAGUE TROPHY & TEAM PICTURE SCHEDULE: Congratulations to all coaches and players for a fantastic season of baseball! All coaches and players are asked to come this Sunday morning, June 29, to the YIWH kiddush room for a team picture, trophy distribution and a Dunkin Donut breakfast treat. Players are encouraged to come wearing their team shirt.
